One of the coolest videos ever!!

  1. Babs, You are a sucker for anything involving Marie Antoinette, little people, and women in chains. The Eagles had it right, "freedom...well that's just some people talking; your prison is walking through this world all alone."---Piker

  2. Check, check, and check. You did omit my particular fascination with sin and freak shows. Cut and paste the following in your browser for more freaky artsy fartsiness. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=vc6vs-l5dkc

Hey dude, great lyrics by the Eagles. I could structure an undergrad curriculum around those.

    "Relax, said the night man,
    We are programmed to receive.
You can check-out any time you like,
    But you can never leave!"

    Hotel Floridan!

The sight of all those axemen, including Joe Walsh, plying their trade is a thing of true beauty & transcendance.

  4. Not the Hotel Floridan! Egads, that would be a nightmare if you could never leave there. At least not until they finish the refurb. :)

  5. Indeed the Floridan!! For all the symbolic implications thereof. Once you've checked in, nearly impossible to check out.

  6. Speaking of haunted hotels: The Grand in Lake Wales. I get the heebie jeebies just looking at this place in the daytime. Man I don't know if you could pay me enough money to stay there overnight.

  8. I saw this awhile back! It was connected to one of the local news stations doing a story on the hotel. Maybe the restoration will really happen this time. It's been sold a couple of times over the years and the new owner was going to 'restore' it and that never happened. I'm sure the amount of $$$ necessary to bring it up to code, replace, rebuild, etc., was too daunting for some people. The current owner is definitely making changes, though.
