Oh, I am so sick about this. I've reached the point that I can't even handle seeing pics of the sealife/wildlife anymore.
One good thing that I did hear is that when the birds are thoroughly cleaned they have a much better chance of living their normal lifespan than was first being stated. I watched Anderson Cooper interview one of the many professionals as he thoroughly cleaned a bird. These people are wonderful. So patient (they wait a few days after they rescue the birds before cleaning them) and so gentle with them.
Sadly, we are also still their biggest enemy. :( Damn the oil companies to hell.
